Neuro-Affirming Therapy: A Different Kind of Connection
If you experience the world through a neurodivergent lens, you already know that "standard" advice doesn't always stick. Whether it's ADHD, Autism, or a mix of both, your brain has its own unique operating system, and trying to force it to run "standard" software can be exhausting.
Lived Experience Matters
I don’t just understand neurodivergence from a textbook. As a mother, sister, daughter, and friend to many neurodivergent people—and as someone who is neurodivergent myself—I live in this world every day. I know that the "ins and outs" of ADHD and Autism aren't just symptoms to be managed; they are part of the core of who you are.
Moving Beyond "Stuffy" Treatment
Being an effective therapist for neurodivergent individuals requires a non-traditional mindset. We won't focus on "fixing" a brain that isn't broken. Instead, we work together on the things that actually impact your quality of life, like finding executive functioning systems that fit your specific flow rather than just "buying a planner."
Space to Unmask
So much of the exhaustion in neurodivergent life comes from "masking"—the constant effort to perform or act a certain way to fit into a neurotypical world. I want this to be a safe space where you can drop that weight. We’ll look at sensory regulation and ways to navigate burnout while honoring your natural way of being, rather than fighting against it.
A Collaborative Partnership
I am well-educated in these treatment areas, but you are the expert on your own experience. My role is to offer tools and insights that help you navigate the world with more confidence and less shame. There is a way to find focus, peace, and individuality without losing yourself in the process.
I’d love to hear about how your brain works and what kind of support feels right for you. Reach out, and let’s start the conversation.
